Whether you are an experienced restaurateur, up-and-coming chef, recruiter, or are just generally interested in the hospitality industry, there is an entire network of underrated podcasts dedicated to the food and beverage industry that you should be tuning into.
In a world where time is precious, podcasts can turn your boring commute into an interesting and time-worthy one. Whether you are on your way to work, preparing for your shift or wanting to expand your knowledge on the industry; podcasts are a great way to stay up to date, as well as providing the tools to give your business an innovative edge.
So, pop in your headphones and tune in to some of my recommendations:
The Kitchen is on Fire
The Kitchen is on Fire is a podcast hosted by the owners of Pidgin in Hackney – James Ramsden & Sam Herlihy. They offer a refreshing and honest perspective on the London dining scene, including interviews with chefs, food media critics, as well as insights into what’s happening behind-the-scenes in the restaurant industry.

Yes Chef
In this podcast you can find out what makes chefs, restaurants, food producers and food experts tick. It’s hosted by Ben Smith (co-founder of London on the Inside) and includes intimate interviews and insights from chefs at the top of their game like Ollie Dabbous, Richard Corrigan, James Cochran and Adam Handling.

Humans of Hospitality
Humans of Hospitality is a weekly podcast, exploring hospitality in its broadest sense. It’s focused more on showcasing stories from the ‘human beings’ rather than the big brands behind our food and drink. Expect topics that explore quintessential British pubs, pop-up restaurants and behind-the-scenes info and advice.

The Disruptive Restaurateur
Award-winning chef, restaurateur, hotelier and author Jonathan Butler hosts an informative, yet comical show on how to improve your restaurant business. You will hear tools to improve your business efficiency, employee engagement, customer service and profitability, as well as insights with leading industry experts.

Grilled by The Staff Canteen
The Staff Canteen already have an established networking website for chefs, with the latest chef jobs, recipes, supplier information and chef’s resources, which has now been complimented by this informative, yet light-hearted podcast. There are interesting interviews with industry experts & their tips on successfully running a business and advice for up and coming professionals wanting to make their impression on the industry.

The UKHospitality Podcast
Here you will find insightful podcasts from the trade association for the UK hospitality industry. UKHospitality is the powerful voice representing the broad hospitality sector – covering everything from hotels, nightclubs, bars, coffee shops, contract catering, and other leisure venues. This is more of an informative podcast exploring topics Employment workforce commission and like how to get a 5* Hygiene rating score.

Off Menu
Ed Gamble & James Acaster host a food and comedy podcast where special guests are invited to select their dream menu. This is a light-hearted and fun show, perfect to wind down after a hard days work!

These are just a few of my favourites, but podcasts are a hugely growing medium & there’s a LOT of foodie and fantastic hospitality content out there. With hundreds of different styles and personalities, you are guaranteed to find one that suits you. So, what are you waiting for – tune in and get listening!!!
